While on my vacation my brother took me to see the Palace of Fine Arts in San Francisco. It looks like something that should be one of the seven wonders of the world! I am amazed that it has not fallen in the earthquakes that have taken out lesser structures. I felt like an ant.
It is hard to get perspective from photographs as to how large this structure is but if you look at the center bottom of this photo you will see a person reading a plaque. I was impressed with all the negative spaces that were created to allow the sky, or the gardens to peek through.
Can you see the carvings at the very top? I love my new camera! With it I was able to zoom in on the very top images to get the detail of them. I just love this old architecture!
On the way out the swans cooperated with me. They are so graceful to watch. If you are ever there it is a very peaceful place to visit.
Great pictures! Looks like a wonderful trip.
