We had the most beautiful snowfall last night. I was very distracted driving. Large white snow flakes sparkled and glittered as they fell into drifts by the sides of the road. The fields looked like they were sprinkled with diamonds. There was little to no traffic on the roads so I pulled over to watch it for a while. It was one of those evenings that I just had to take a minute to take it all in. I love coming home. It is a peaceful time of my day.
The dogs have already left their tracks in the back yard. I like the pattern of the patio set and their tracks. I already miss sitting out in the yard and enjoying the birds and the smell of the grass but who doesn't enjoy fresh white snow!!!
Every home has it stark reminders of warmer times. I like to take notice of those times and I am grateful for them. But, there is something about the snow that reminds me of change...we are in all ways...changing. A fresh snowfall helps to remind us of the beauty in that simple fact.
.....Last year's memories....mostly happy ones and winter always reminds me that there will be another year...another promise....there is beauty in memories. We build on them every year. You have to take time to smell the roses....even when they are sleeping under the snow.
I love a sunny winter day after a fresh snowfall!!!
On a more personal note....sorry I haven't been blogging much lately....I have had a siege of computer problems on not one but both computers at one time. Just got my laptop back and so I can at least use that until I can figure out what is wrong with my tower!...so I am back! Sorry for the lapse!!!
My daughter has been on a roll with her sewing....I have to share with you the darling capes that she made for the kids using the pattern that she found on Puking Pastilles. (I love her blog!) And the capes are adorable...This is Jen's version of them....
Oh......the kids are so cute in them....!!!! The capes are made of felt.......see............
I would love to have a rack of Super Hero Capes in my office!!! I may have to make some. I have a crown but I think Super Hero Capes would be most empowering! Don't worry....they would be optional for adult clients. I do believe that the world would be a better place if we could all just play a little bit!!!!
Jen also made some nice new pillow cases
Isn't this the most adorable sock monkey material??? It does make a really cute pillowcase!
She finished her first quilt.
And........she is working on a table runner for me!!!!
Am I not the luckiest person???? I love it. She was concerned about the stark black and white with the red but I LOVE LOVE LOVE it!!! I just finished my first quilt for my Grandson. I will post a picture of it after they receive it....I want it to be a surprise. I had a ton of help from Jen with it at Christmas time. She is like my sewing guru! I am very excited that we can share that kind of time together! I watch her in action and I realize that I am not quite as nimble as I used to be!!! She is eager to attack any project and her energy is contagious!
David just stopped by to snow blow my driveway!!!
I think I am going to go make him some coffee for doing it for me....Wish I had some donuts too!!!!
